Directions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add stellini pasta and cook until just al dente (slightly undercooked, as it will bake). Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Make the Béchamel Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until smooth and thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Combine Pasta and Sauces: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, and béchamel sauce. Mix gently until pasta is evenly coated.
- Assemble the Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly on top.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve warm for a hearty, comforting meal.
